Love of God
Aflame with God’s truth As Augustinians, our "hearts are restless until they rest in God." We are touched by God and burn with the love of the Spirit in prayer and study. + "Tolle lege" ("take and read") marked the conversion of our Holy Father Augustine. Therefore, we too seek God in prayer, the Liturgy of the Hours and the Sacraments, and in the sacred study of Scripture and theology on a daily basis. Love of Self Aflame with God’s grace Augustinians rejoice, like Mary, that "God has done great things for us." + Our new life in Christ continually renews us and calls us to a wonderful journey with God as we strive to be the full selves Yahweh has created us to become. Love of Others Aflame with God’s love One in mind and heart, Augustinians seek to overflow with God's love in community. We know that we are not on this journey alone. We need others as others need us. + We seek to build communio: friendship and support in inclusive love and mercy. Our call in ministry is to help others know that they belong to the Body of Christ, especially those who have been marginalized. All are truly welcome at our table! |    |
